Don't blame them, one little bit. They voted strongly for Remain, and don't want huge decisions about the future of their nation being taken with no regard to their wishes.

Same with London, same with Brighton. Same with places all over the country every time we have a general election. Same with every other democratic country. And then if all cities went independent, we'd have the same thing between different parts of each city.

Yes, most of the Scottish people I have known have not liked us (didn't mind living here though, of course). Think they would struggle to survive independently, as the Barnett Formula works very well for them.

I also thought the last poll showed the majority of Scots were in favour of staying in the UK, despite Brexit.

They did vote to remain , however I have an issue with the term strongly . Turnout in Scotland was very low in comparison to England . If more of them got out and voted perhaps we would still be in the EU .

However , the SNP obviously failed to mobilise the vote in Scotland and now Sturgeon wants to cause more uncertainty. With the falling value of GBP and oil Scotland would fail miserably .

Moving to Scotland might be an option if they remain in the EU for many thousands of English who are about to retire could sell up buy a property and live on the money saved could be a huge financial boon to the Scottish economy

They were told they had to vote 'no' in the independence referendum to stay in the EU.
Independence makes Trident renewal at Faslane, rather precarious too.

That said, 36% of SNP voters voted to leave the EU in June though. More people voted to stay in The UK, than stay in The EU too.

Different ball game to 2014 as well though:

Become an independent country on the world stage.
Apply and wait to join the EU.
Adopt the Euro as a currency and join the Eurozone.
Join the Schengen area.
Re-sign up to The Common Fisheries Policy.
Dwindling oil reserves and prices meaning all the predictions and claims of a financial boom they would have had by going independent 2 years ago proved wrong.
Possible hard border with England.
Potential of trade tariffs with their largest trading partner ie England/Rest of The UK.
Lose the vote again and face possible political Armageddon - 60 years ago, the Tories had 50% of the vote in Scotland. 30 years ago Labour ruled the roost - nothing is certain in Scottish politics.

Surely this is something all sides of the never ending Brexit debate can support?

Leavers can surely understand the desire to break free of an outside power they believe control their destiny, whilst Remainers can empathise with the desire to stay in the EU.

Good luck Scotland without your substantial central government funding! Good news for the rest of the UK as we can use the money saved from not having to prop up the Scottish economy to offset some of the pain caused by Brexit. Can't wait to see them become a poor insignificant nation and then come back to the Union with their begging bowl.
