Righto, you're playing poker, just show your opponent your hand eh? Besides, it's far fetched I know but.......
Imagine you've stumbled over a way forward from this mess, you'd share your vision with your opponents would you?

Unfortunately we're playing solo not poker and we've called misere ouverte

It's interesting that Gove and Rabb are happy with this, two of the most ardent Brexiters and for Rabb to put his name behind it.

If it's good enough for those two it should be good enough for everyone?

I don't believe either of them are particularly 'happy' with it. Gove has already said as much. In my view, there are a number of Brexiteers either willing to put up with a softer Brexit believing it 100% guarantees we will leave while some are biding their time waiting to see what response the EU gives expecting a negative response leading to yet more conssessions at which point they will also jump ship.Plus of course there's always career advancement over principle reasons.

In other news I see the Tories consistent lead in the polls which they have had for months has now faltered and been reversed ... should help concentrate a few minds.

“The government has published its blueprint for UK relations with the EU, with Theresa May saying it "delivers on the Brexit people voted for".“

Fair enough but it’s rubbish and had taken her 2years. Who would really want this mess, no power and all the downsides. Davis and Boris got it right, they can’t find a better route, there is no better solution than staying in.

The Brexit deal agreed at Chequers is...

Good for Britain: 13% (-1)
Bad for Britain: 42% (+9)

via @YouGov, 10 - 11 Jul
Chgs. w/ 09 Jul

Doesn't seem like many people on either side are happy with this proposal, which the EU might not even agree to.

Agree it's rubbish but Davis, Boris or any Brexiteer were never running the show. Remainers in the government, Tory party and parliament have always been looking to dilute and keep us more in than out. Which is not absolving the Brexiteeers for not having a more structured, definitive template to meet the wishes of the 17.4 million majority but we are where we are because people who don't really believe in Brexit are in charge.

The EU have a difficult decision to make. There is no way they will accept this but they also need a successful outcome and I’m sure don’t want a no deal scenario. If they throw this back she could be toast and I don’t think they want that as this will drag on further and hurt both sides

If as lead negotiator you spend 4 hours in Brussels you have either nailed it and are happily spending your time on the beach with a beer or you are hopelessly out of your depth having caused the situation yourself and best get lost. He got it.

He was never the lead negotiator (see May/Robbins) .. which may be why he spent so little time in Brussels. He's bailed, expect every Brexiteer with any integrity to follow in the coming months as we reach the crunch talks.

Suggesting the only option is to stay locked into the ever closer union project under any circumstances shows the absurdity of any notion of democratic accountability or sovereignty. Leave now when the powers that be misatkenly give the plebs a real choice or roll over and accept our fate through entirely undemocratic means.

Just as well Robbins has been given power then, don't want a freakoid like Raab talking to Johnny Foreigner. #civilservant #expert #europhile #wouldhavehappenedanyway

Davis, the recent Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. One of the Brexitears finest cough cough. Unable to influence both in the U.K. and with the EU.
