Albion's midfielder has been named in Michael O'Neill's squad.
Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for their forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers at home to San Marino and away to reigning world champions, Germany.

Michael O’Neill’s side host San Marino in Belfast on Saturday 8th October, kick-off 7.45pm, before facing Germany in Hannover the following Tuesday, 11th October, also with a 7.45pm kick-off time.Northern Ireland began their World Cup qualifying campaign with a hard-fought goalless draw against the Czech Republic, which saw Norwood come face-to-face with Albion team-mate Jiri Skalak.

Norwood has 39 caps for his country, after making his debut in a 2-0 defeat to Montenegro in August 2010.

Meanwhile, Albion under-23 defender Ben Hall has been selected for the Northern Ireland under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Ukraine and France.

Jim Magilton’s team play Ukraine in Kiev on Thursday 6th October, before hosting France in Belfast the following Tuesday, 11th October.
