Anyone know about them ?
My son is 19 & works 4/5 evenings a week at the local chip shop and takes home about £100. Hie employer has given him a letter about a workplace pension.
My *very* limited knowledge of it suggests that on such a small amount it's not really worth it.

Any (non-binding) advice ?

employer has to offer something by law now. one isnt suppoed to give advise, and starting pension early is highly effective, but really 19 yo should be spending on drink, cars and women. seriously, it will be so little, wait until getting a regular fulltime job for that sort of thing.

He can think about pensions when he has a better paid job. The other replies above are spot on. All the best!
