Albion have been hit by another long-term injury blow.
Kazenga LuaLua has been ruled out for six weeks after surgery yesterday on a persistent knee injury.
The winger, who missed out on a loan move in the transfer window, joins utliity player Liam Rosenior (ankle) as a lengthy casualty.
LuaLua has been sidelined from the last two matches by the cartilage damage, sustained in training.
Boss Chris Hughton said today: "The operation was very successful. We expect him back in probably around six weeks.
"It's a big blow. The talk of him going on loan stemmed from his desire to be

playing."
Solly March (above), out since December with cruciate knee ligament damage, resumed training today after a setback.

A shin issue has slowed his recovery and he will not be involved in the under-23s against Newcastle at Crawley on Monday (7pm) or the League Cup tie at the Amex the following night.
On a brighter note, striker Sam Baldock (calf) is back in training tomorrow and back in contention for Saturday's trip to Burton Albion after missing Tuesday's win against leaders Huddersfield.
Hughton said: "He will definitely train tomorrow and then it's my choice for the weekend. I'm certain he will be available."
Burton boss Nigel Clough is struggling to field a full bench for Albion's visit. He could be without as many as eight players through injury, suspension and unavailability, including Seagulls striker Chris O'Grady (below) who cannot feature under the terms of his loan move.
