Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa on Saturday.

An 80th-minute strike from Harvey Knibbs was enough to secure the hosts all three points, in a closely-contested contest at the club’s Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.
*
Ian Buckman’s side made a bright start to the match, as Sam Rolph came close early on with a header that was blocked on the line from Danny Mandroiu’s corner.
*
Reece Meekums also tried his luck in the opening 20 minutes after latching onto Rian O’Sullivan’s cross, but guided his shot just wide.
*
Mandroiu had a chance of his own, with a superb solo strike that hit the crossbar from 25 yards out.
