****ing dreadful player. How he has earned hundreds of thousands of pounds playing badly for so many years is beyond me.

Haha - absolutely toilet along with JFC in that shambolic midfield we had

In a minority of one, obviously. They were dark days indeed, but I still think that put him into a more sucessful side, and he would more than hold his own.

All of that team were on the basement in terms of confidence, but he can pass the ball reasonably well, and has a good strike on him.

I preferred him marginally to JFC but thats not saying much

Villa fans are in a desperate state, and who could blame them after last season, and indeed, the beginning of this?

Funny really: they must be up there with Newcastle in financial terms, and they've certainly picked up a few expensive players this summer. Potentially they're every bit as big a club as Newcastle too. Yet they haven't recovered from last season's disaster yet.

Gary Gardner is a terrible, terrible, terrible footballer.

There are plenty of players with equally limited skill sets earning an honest living in the football league. But couple that with a stinking attitude and a massive ego, and you've won the shit-player lottery.

The ownership situation can't be helping matters either. I'm sure they were all celebrating when they heard that Randy Lerner had finally sold out, but who exactly has he sold out to?

Out of the frying pan and in to the fire perhaps.

Ha! I thought of you as I was composing the opening post in this thread, recalling what a big admirer of his you are!

The Chinese chap is going to make them the 3rd biggest club in the world. What's not to like?
