Albion are sweating on the safe return of Tomer Hemed as they look to get their Championship promotion bid back on track this weekend.
The striker and his compatriot Beram Kayal both played the full 90 minutes for Israel in a World Cup qualifier against Italy in Haifa last night.
Kayal shone in a 3-1 defeat while Hemed was involved in the incident which led to the dismissal of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini in the second half for a second bookable offence.
They are not expected back at training with the Seagulls until tomorrow, when they will be assessed, although neither appeared to pick up any injuries during the game.
Albion will hope to have the duo fit and fresh for their home game with Brentford on Saturday.
Both are key men for the Seagulls but they will have particular interest in Hemed’s safe return given that Sam Baldock serves a one-game ban against the Bees.
Albion are better covered in midfield, where Dale Stephens is fit and ready to go.
None of Albion’s internationals had reported any injuries or problems ahead of last night’s game.
Goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa remained on the bench for Finland while winger Jiri Skalak and midfielder Ollie Norwood featured for their respective countries in a 0-0 draw between the Czech Republic and Northern Ireland in Prague on Sunday.
