Due to the laws of the religion, Cruise cannot see his own daughter, because she isn't fooled by the 'religion'. He wanted to leave, but that's not really an option. They deprive recruits of sleep and fool them and get them to confess all sorts of shit, which is then used to blackmail them so they can't leave.

What's it all about? :dunce:

Aliens being frozen and put in a volcano, their spirits try to escape but can't because an evil alien overlord doesn't allow them to so the alien spirits float around possessing early mankind and cause all our negative feelings. Or something along those lines.

There's 2 strands to the cult. One strand attracts the narcissistic side of celebrities and pretends that this self-obsessed, selfish, fame-hungry life that they crave is spiritually enlightening. It basically creates a fake religion based around their lifestyle and tells them that what they are doing isn't just good but the right way to live. Tom Cruise COULD see his daughter if he wanted because celebrities are allowed to break the rules.

And the point of having these celebrities on board is because it is the marketing department for the other side which is truly dark side, where impressionable young people searching for some meaning to their existence are ruthlessly exploited, financially drained, brain washed and told to ostracise everyone outside the cult.

Scientology is pure evil.

Although to be clear, and for legal reasons, I should point out that the cult that Jeremy and Superhans joined in that episode was in No WAY based on the 'no more fake than any other' religion of Scientology. Not at all. Nope.
