Boss Chris Hughton has saluted the quality of Anthony Knockaert and Glenn Murray that sent Albion to the top of the Championship.
Knockaert opened the scoring against Rotherham last night, just as he did against Nottingham Forest on Friday.
Murray added to his double against Forest with the second goal and the pair combined to win a penalty converted by Tomer Hemed as the Seagulls triumphed 3-0 again to lead the early table on goal difference.
Hughton told The Argus: “They were two moments of real quality for the first two goals. Knockaert produced something out of nothing and then Glenn’s was a typical good striker’s goal.
“He has certainly added to what we’ve got with three goals in two games.”
Newcastle transfer target Knockaert revealed to The Argus after the Forest game his enthusiasm to stay with the Seagulls.
Hughton said: “It’s not surprising, because I see it in him every day in training. He’s a really good character to have around the place.
“I saw how hard it hit him at the end of last season. Certainly the game at Middlesbrough.
“This is a player that is very passionate about playing, he’s very popular in the changing room and he’s a player that we’re looking forward to seeing more from.”
