If true, why not, we cannot be too picky these days as there's not a lot of time / availability left to get someone with a proven scoring rate.
As long as were not paying over the odds.

Never understood why B'fluff bought him, perhaps with one eye on the Championship? If they aren't going to play him then it would make sense for him to go out on loan.

If true, he is the type of player we need so I wouldn't put it past Hughton to go for him. That said we may get close to a deal and then he will go to Derby.

It's a good way to screw the competition that. Show interest in a player and then on the sly let clubs like Derby and Wolves know. They then offer a ridiculous salary to the player thus tying up their own P&L and we skip off into the sunset. Great skulduggery.
