Sorry if this appears to be a 'look at me' thread, but this is another one of those annoying request for donations. This year I am doing over 67,000 burpees to help raise money for St George's Hospital who saved the lives of our twin sons after being diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). The money raised will go towards their new kit appeal which includes raising £25k for fetal endoscopic equipment at St George’s Hospital. In fact I recently found out that the money will go towards a different bit of surgical equipment compared to the one the surgeons used on my wife. The new equipment will see the surgeons insert a ‘balloon’ in to the windpipe of a fetus when the diaphragm has failed to form. The new treatment is only available in three centres in Europe at present. Our full story is here www.justgiving.com/craig-petersttts

So why over 67,000 burpees? Basically, I am adding one a day. So one burpee on the 1st January, two on the 2nd January and so on. Today is day 224 so that's 224 burpees, 225 tomorrow, etc. You may have seen me and my 'face you'd like to punch' on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ForTheBoysTTTS with photos of when the club invited me to do burpees there. There's also a Facebook and YouTube page where I am filming and posting each of my daily burpees so there's proof that I'm doing them: https://www.facebook.com/ForTheBoysTTTS/

It's had some decent coverage too:

- Front page on the Worthing Herald: http://www.worthingherald.co.uk/new...kes-major-burpee-challenge-for-sons-1-7419192
- A full page feature and Q&A in Men's Health magazine: http://www.menshealth.co.uk/fitness/watch-mh-reader-does-67000-burpees-for-charity-closed
- A piece in The Argus: http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/loca...nge_to_help_hospital_who_saved_his_twin_sons/
- A visit to do burpees at The Amex: http://www.seagulls.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/craig-peters-burpee-challenge-3141399.aspx
- A tweet and support from Team GB athlete Louise Hazel
- A live interview on BBC Sussex Radio - fast forward to 3hrs 41mins: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p040hh6f#play
- Tough Mudder have now contacted me to do something at one of their live events where I am competing in September
- I have applied to break the Guinness World Record for most burpees in 24hrs - the current record stands at 10,100.
- The pinnacle was visiting the team and professor who did our treatment at St George's Hospital and doing burpees with them last week https://www.stgeorges.nhs.uk/newsit...to-raise-money-for-fetal-medicine-department/

However, whilst the coverage has been great, I am still desperate to get more donations. Someone said if I break the World Record for the number of burpees in 24hrs they will donate another £500, hence why I've applied. I'm also going to set a date to 'burp to work' in Worthing. This will involve doing burpees for 1.4 miles from my house to work which I hope will drum up even more. I so desperately want to give something back to these consultants and do this for the other families who are out there right now going through the simply traumatic, lonely, confusing, and heartbreaking disease that is TTTS.

Any support, donations, shares, likes, etc will be so gratefully received. Thanks guys and gals.

I don't think the question is 'why 67,000 burpees'- more likely to be 'what the heck is a burpee?'

Jumping up and down from a press up position, basically.

Bring your feet to your hands, jump up, and then put your feet back into the press up position. Repeat.
