David Stockdale welcomes being dismissed as promotion underdogs

DAVID STOCKDALE wants Albion to be dismissed as promotion underdogs.
The Seagulls goalkeeper believes they can go one better than last term, when they missed out on the Premier League on goal difference.
And he reckons being overlooked as top contenders can only help them.
Stockdale is back to full fitness after undergoing two foot operations during a tough summer.

He added 72 minutes of playing time at Oxford on Tuesday to his hour at Stevenage on Saturday and made sharp saves low down in both games, one to either side.
Stockdale told The Argus: “People can call us underdogs because we will show them they are wrong.
“We have got to stay focused and use last year as a rocket up the backside.
“If we don’t aim for one point better off, or two goals better off, what’s the point in going again?
“We have felt it. We want that feeling of going to the Amex only getting beat three times all season. Or no times! What happened last season is disappointing but it means we will have to go to 90 points now.”
Albion complete their pre-season schedule at home to Lazio on Sunday and boss Chris Hughton is encouraged by their attacking options.
Tomer Hemed scored twice at Oxford after being teed up by fellow substitute Jamie Murphy.
Hughton said: “Credit to Tomer. I thought Jamie was very good when he came on as well and as the game opened up.
“Tomer capitalised on the space that we had.
“We want four front players competing for places and giving us options.”
