Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton says he will take more of a senior squad to tomorrow’s pre-season friendly at Oxford United, for the club’s penultimate fixture before the season opener at Derby County.

With several first-teamers playing the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s matches at Luton and Stevenage, Hughton explained that the players' game-time is likely to be reduced on Tuesday. He said, “What I wanted to do was get through the two games, assess the situation and probably take a big group again on Tuesday.
“A lot of the players have had 90 minutes each and I’ll probably cut that down a bit on Tuesday.
“You’re always trying to formulate as many combinations as possible. Fortunately for us, we’ve already got a lot of combinations from last season.
“We’re not fitting in a new team. There are a couple of new individuals like Glenn [Murray] and Siddy [Steve Sidwell], but there aren’t many at the moment.
“It will be very much a first-team squad that goes to Oxford at this moment.”

Hughton expects his side to step up another gear when they visit the Kassam Stadium, and says he will be without Connor Goldson for the trip, as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.“He won’t make midweek. It’s a concern, but it’s part and parcel of the game.
“On Tuesday we’ll be three days closer to the start of the season, so as each game goes by, you’re looking to up the intensity.”
Tickets for the fixture at the Kassam Stadium cost £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (under-21s and over-65s).
Fans can purchase tickets on the day from the away ticket office right next to the away turnstiles, but it is cash only.
