It hasn't reverted to the original Palace Pier but Palace has been added to Brighton Pier making it Brighton Palace Pier.

The small print says the the pier will be know as 'Brighton Palace Pier'.

It's always been the Palace Pier, nothing to do with pikeys, something to do with it being palacial when it was built I suspect.
I know I live in the past, I still give directions to the dolphinarium

Only time I'd been near it is when we were dragged round whilst on a school trip......many, many seasons ago
