In Mojo Cemetry Gates was 48 just shows how subjective this is or how many good songs the Smiths recorded

Very apt I feel but my fave is 'Good Times Never Last'....

Good times for a change
see, the luck I've had
can make a good man
turn bad

So please please please
let me, let me, let me
let me get what I want
this time

Haven't had a dream in a long time
see, the life I've had
can make a good man bad

So for once in my life
let me get what I want
Lord knows it would be the first time
Lord knows it would be the first time

Disagree, also released as a UK single in 1985.

My attempt at trying to whittle down to ten my favourite Smiths tunes:

How Soon Is Now
Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want This Time
Half A Person
Cemetery Gates
Boy With The Thorn In His Side
Bigmouth Strikes Again
I Know It's Over (live version from Rank)
Last Night I Dreamt that Somebody Loved Me (my all-time favourite intro to a song)
You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby
There Is A Light That Will Never Go Out.

and if I'm allowed another couple in reserve then I'd add London and Girlfriend In A Coma to that list. And if really pushed for an all-time fave then I'd go for Half A Person. It's a tune that still nearly reduces me to tears when I hear it.

Marr on Mandolin and Morrissey singing achieve more in 1 minute 51 seconds than most bands can express in a whole album.

To be fair, the intro to London was pretty decent!
Panic was excellent.
So many to choose from but How Soon/ There is a light tops for me.
