Surely the less time you have to live with the consequences, the less your vote should count. For every 10 years you've been on this planet (and others), your vote should be weighted less 20%.

Age
18-30 100% weighted vote
30-40 80%
40-50 60%
50-60 40%
50-60 20%
60-70 10%
80+ You've had your time and in 7 years time when the shite really hits the fan you'll statistically be tied to a television.

Just a thought, eh.

I post I made elsewhere probably betrays my thoughts on the matter...

I realise that polling voters before a referendum is a rather inexact science but given the following:-

73% of 18-29 year olds want to stay
63% of over 60's want to leave

70% with degree level education want to stay
64% of people achieving an educational maximum of GCSE level want to leave

63% of Times readers want to stay
78% of Daily Mail readers want to leave

67% of employed people want to stay
73% of unemployed people want to leave,

aren't we in danger of hamstringing our future welfare and prosperity through the wishes of a lot of dim, unproductive, old people who won't be around for much longer?

If you are 70 and Brexit happens most of you will be dead by the time we get a trade deal in place

A definite YES, the oldies have done well in the last 41 years, they have little to complain about.

If it was to be weighted, it should be done the other way round! If I was seeking advice on anything, I would much rather listen to a 70 year old (who has life experience), than an 18 year old, just out of school.

You appear to have 40% and 20% for 50-60 year olds. Can I add one of them to my paltry 10% please?:tantrum:

I think the "Baby Boomers" aged 60-70 are lucky to get 10% - they had free love in the 60s, went on strike throughout the 70s and voted in Thatcher in the 80s, they can do one.

What about the 70 year old that due to perceived adverse life experience has become a bigot?

Would you seek their advice?

Good idea. Actually lets get rid of voting altogether. The proles are really only needed for cheap labour. Lets stop educating them as well as that is a complete waste of my taxes.

Well I caught a strange infection in the sixties, was a strike-breaker in the 70's,and had to pay for my kids school milk in the 80's,so you do one!

I'd prefer IQ bands rather than age bands. Maybe make people pass a test first....

Well that's us oldies had it then-Greg and Wrong-Direction will tell you how stupid and nearly dead we are.Wonder what IQ band they would be in?

Shame you weren't around to stand up to Jimmy Savile! I hope your infection's cleared up.
