Surprised there's no thread for this one. As if THAT game in 2014 and elimination by noddy Paraguay last year couldn't get any worse, but Brazil reached their nadir by losing to Peru and crashing out of the Copa America Centenario in the group stage! I know it's quite..er, small time compared to the EUROs, but the sheer magnitude of this makes it newsworthy

PS, Peru's goal was an illegal handball a la Maradona, and the referee was conned by the goalscorer despite 5 minutes of consulting with his assistants amidst enormous pressure from both sets of fans

That's just unbelievably blatent. If (and its crazy that they can't) they don't use replays then there should be a rule that if the suspected offender lies when directly asked by the ref if he handled it, they should be banned for a couple of seasons for cheating and the result reversed. That would have done for Maradonna and Henry all those years ago as well!

Good. For years Brazil have been labelled as a technically amazing footballing nation, when they've been mediocre at best save for a few flair players who usually have one world cup and then disappear.

Overrated & overhyped

What and face the wrath of the Peru fans, who would more than likely dish out some kind of violent punishment for being honest and not keeping his mouth shut ......
