England - No system or two or three systems?

Just a thought... I'm among the many who have been a little critical of Roy and the constant shift between 433 4231 and 442 (diamond). I think everyone has assumed he has no idea what to system play, but has he been rather quietly getting us used to a number of systems so we can pick and choose dependent on the opposition and tweak it tactically during the game (something we've been appalling at for years)?

If we get to the semis or better, yes, he's been a quiet tactical genius. Anything less, no, he's a buffoon with no clue.

Woy has the second highest win ratio of any England manager since the war (I think), so he must be doing something right. Capello had the highest, but he was a clown apparently.
The common thread of "failure" here is the players, not the manager (other than Shtevce and Graham Taylor obviously. Oh and Keegan). But then England as a nation has very high expectations even though they have regularly punched above their weight according to Soccornomics anyway.

Are English expectations actually that high this time around?
