Brexit impact on overseas player signings

Not seen this before but if true it makes for grim reading.

The individual in question supposedly studies football law and claims the following.

In the event of GB leaving the EU, any players within the Eurozone will need to have earned a percentage of caps in the last two years, to sign for a club in the UK.

In other words if true the signings of Knockheart, Vicente, Kucszak, Calderon, Ulloa, Bruno, Orlandi, Hemed, Spanish Dave would not have been possible.

Anyone else heard of this? Is this something to do with the need for work permits?

If he's right, English football will change dramatically with a greater reliance (and premium) on home grown talent.

Could we be seeing the demise of the foreign import outside of the BPL?

I wonder how it will affect players already under contract?

How does it work art the moment with non EU players? Do they have to reapply for work permits when contracts are renewed?

What a load of BS. Just more trite to make stupid people vote IN.

It would work however our country wanted it to work.

We would also do a deal with the EU on trade, and that would include the free movement of people within the EU, so they'd still be able to work here.
Thank you Chris, you're a legend.

You've just handed Barber his latest lame excuse"we were going to sing such and such but because of an out vote we couldn't."
Teflon Paul blags his way through another piss poor season.

But isn't one of the major reasons for voting out that there wouldn't be free movement of people to the UK from the EU?

So your saying that by leaving the EU we are going to sign up to the one thing that prompted the Referendum in the first place.

      That makes sense.

Errr. What planet are Brexiters on. You will do untold damage to our economy in exchange for what? Free trade and free movement of people. We are in trouble people. Get out and vote to remain if you don't want to be a bit part player that suddenly finds it has to do the things bigger powers want, like China, the US and the EU, just to sit at their table.

Exactly this. No benefits but a weaker position.
