It will be a bonus to have him back, but we need to plan as if he wasn't there for the first part of the season. Maybe a half season loan 'til xmas ???

His Twitter feed on April 7th said that there were four months to go then which puts him at early August. Now presumably that's to start training so I would assume that we're looking at sometime in September at the very earliest

The last statement from the club (unless you've heard differently) was

CH: “We know generally that it’s any time from six to nine months. I think probably the report we get over the next days will determine when it is.”
this was in December. So its around May-July on that basis.

He's been up and around at matches in the last few weeks doing selfies etc.

I think he meant then that it was four months since the injury.
he said then "4 Months today!!! Can't wait to be back out there doing what I love. Getting closer and stronger "

He'll struggle to get back in the side if Knockaert is still here and on form. Not sure we need any more cover with four widemen already.

He won't send Solly out on loan.

Solly is a really shy lad - He often lacks confidence and he needs an arm around his shoulder to build his confidence so I would imagine he would be more confident he would get that at the club rather than going out on loan

It isn't either or, let one of the four go then, Solly's too good to ignore. Knockaert was on form at the end of the season but it doesn't mean he'll start next year like that, or continue it throughout the season, he's a winger for goodness sake! :)

I meant us get a loan in to cover him

It's not mentioned on here often, but I'm pretty sure Solly said a while back he eventually wants to play in central midfield. I actually think the number ten Baldock role would be great for him. He carries the ball well, wins a surprising number of headers and has Baldock's workrate. Could even switch with Knockeart easily during a game. I'd certainly be concerned (as the opposition) to see Skalak, March and Knockaert sandwiched between our two class midfielders and Hemed (or another striker).

Havent we got sufficient cover with wide men? I would think if any one was considered for a loan when Solly is back to full steam it would be Lua Lua who seems to have not looked up to the mark when appearing last season but who knows what a good pre season will do.
