Two interesting events coming up to raise funds for AITC. Anyone for footgolf?

Albion in the Community (AITC) is looking for Brighton & Hove Albion fans to take part in one of its forthcoming fundraising events and help raise funds for the charity’s award-winning disability sport programme.

AITC is the largest provider of disability sporting opportunities in Sussex and each year helps hundreds of people play football who otherwise would not be able to.

To help it continue that work it is holding two fundraising events in July.

The first is a footgolf tournament at Mid Sussex Golf Club in Ditchling on the golf club’s purpose-built nine-hole, par-33 footgolf course.

It will take place on Thursday 7 July, starting at 6.30pm and see teams of four compete for the Albion in the Community Footgolf Cup.

Entry is just £10 per person. For more information, or to book a team, email fundraising@albioninthecommunity.org.uk.

The second fundraising event takes place on 24 July and is AITC’s Little Big Giant Cycle Challenge. Anyone looking to take part can choose from three different distances – Little (25 miles), Big (50 miles) and Giant (75 miles).

Riders will depart from the American Express Community Stadium in staggered starts from 8.30am and each route goes through Lewes and takes in the picturesque Sussex countryside out to the scenic High Weald and beyond.

Supporters can register to take part from just £25 and the ride is being supported by Giant.

Footgolf is hilarious. At Waterhall (not the course above) you literally spend your time running after the ball as it disappears down a hill! Well worth a go if you've not done it before, always a laugh.

The course at waterhall is appalling, very poorly thought out. When on a flat course it can actually be really good.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our footgolf event. The money raised will now help fund some of our local disability football sessions and make a real difference to our players.
