Even before injuries once again these 2 looked no danger at all. Of course if they find themselves in space they can score but as far as giving defenders hard time forget it. Our central defenders have done very well all season but sure they would be happy to be up against our gentle 2 compared to hard time they are given week after week. They nearly all seem to have more strength, shield ball better and are quicker. If we can keep them we have great defence midfield and wingers. 2 forwards will complete jigsaw. Most established strikers are out of question but surely someone like Kodji of Bristol City would consider a move to us.
As far as Monday is concerned Houghton sumed it up difficult but possible. Go 1 up in first 20 mins and every chance

Baldock tried his heart out tonight. Sadly, he's just not very good at this level

This is we why we can't beat the top teams , our forward line Hemed , Baldock and Wilson are not quite good enough to score against the best defences , only Bobby is , how I wish he was fit

I believe Hemed scored 17 this season and hit the post whilst he was on the pitch tonight. Not bad in my book, Baldock on the other hand........

I couldn't agree more, apart from Hemed (who scored a hat trick about five games ago) hitting the post at 0-0 they were SHITE

That is the big problem. Established strikers must not be out of the question. The one thing all promoted clubs seem to have is a top striker. Yes they cost serious money but you have to invest in one of these to gain the ultimate goal.

Telling quote from Guy Butters on SCR last night when Hemed came off for Wilson in the first half. Said something like 'No great loss, he's not very mobile'. Glad it's not just me who thinks that then...

And as for Baldock, he embraces the physical aspects of the Championship as much as, say, Spanish Dave. Which is to say, not very much at all.

Baldock was garbage last night. Several moves fizzled out when the ball arrived at his feet, he was just bullied off the ball.

Think what Ross McCormack could do in our team when you think of the number of goals he's scored in a poor Fulham team !

Is it REALLY too much to ask to source one single striker who is MOBILE and BRAVE and SMART? We've had them in the past, loads of times, but the ones we do get nowadays don't hang around here for very long. We only ever get left with the duffers.

assuming we don't progress from here - we just have to hope we can keep the rest of the team together and TB can spend some dosh on some decent strikers. our front line is why we haven't gone up automatically.

I have defended him quite often this season, last night it was like we had a child in our side the way he was swatted aside. Piss poor on a night that we needed much more from him. I'd be inclined to give one of the development squad a run out on Monday, especially if we gave one who has some presence and a bit of nastiness about him.

to be fair i think there were a myriad of reasons for that, not least Hyypia's insistence on playing a system for half a season that clearly wasn't working. Full backs as wingers and midfielders as full backs etc etc

With players who were not quick enough to do the covering required. ****ing madness it was.

Worth a look at the Plymouth forward who scored 2 at Fratton the other night? Raw but someone will take a chance on him.

To be fair, the player is more than a bit chickenshit. He shirks out of challenges, ducks out of headers and is basically unfit for purpose for the rough and tumble PHYSICALITY of the Championship. And, yeah, feel free to go all Clevor Trevor and bounce this post six months down the line if he ever changes his game.Fill yer boots!

What about Wilson ??
Spent most of his time on his back and is s poor impression of a centre forward
Baldock works hard but isn't up to this standard sadly
What we need is a Ramirez/ Forrestorri / Lansbury to play that Number 10 role
