The past couple of days has produced an annoying pop up everytime I try to access Google.

It says Program Name = Google Update

Verified Publisher = Google

File Origin = Hard Drive on the Computer.

It asks "Do you want to allow this App to make changes to your hard drive".

However, it comes with a Shield logo and not the normal Google coloured circles.

Is this legit or some dodgy one trying to access my laptop? Should I allow it access?

If not how do I get rid of the pop ups?

Sounds dodgy. I'm guessing you're on Windoze?

Have you run a malware and antivirus scan recently?

This might help. If you use Chrome. If you don't, there are tons of other people with the same issue - try Googling.

Download this and run a scan, this picks up malware/Trojans. Also worth leaving it on your machine and doing a scan once a month, mine always picks up something and I don't go on any dodgy sites.
