ever come out and admitted that they made a complete pig's ear of a decision in sending a player off?

I don't recall it EVER, but I 'm sure there must be some decent minded refs who have?

I hold no hope the Mike Dean will do the decent thing though.

It won't happen - and refs are supported from above by the FA pretty much irrespective of their performances - its managed incompetence.

Of course not, they don't say anything or it would pre-judge any appeal.
