Lil Miss Stat has her 10th birthday approaching and it occurred to be a stop-go animation kit would be a fun present.
Sadly for her I make BensGrandad look like Bill Gates when it comes to all things 21st Century.

To a computer rube like me either would appear to be ideal, nevertheless any advise (assuming you type slowly and raise your voice) would be greatly appreciated.

ZU3D seems to come out on top - http://www.zu3d.com/
2nd is HUE - some reviewers don't like the software (e.g. easy to accidentally delete stuff)
3rd is OGOBILD - poor quality camera
