Will Derby rest players?

Will they want to contest their next 2 games, or would they prefer to rest their A-team and not worry about results? After all, they're playing Hull in the play-offs, come what may...

No, they want 4th place to secure the second leg being at home. And, potentially, playing their play off opposition and sending out a message.

Derby chairman just recently sacked a manager for being too short-termist i.e. for wanting promotion this season. As messages go, that's got to be a pretty strong message shirley?

they'll be sent out to play and win, but some players will take their foot off, they'll not want to risk injury. they'll want positive momentum, yet may also want to save the legs of key players, so maybe one or two rested or brough toff earlier than otherwise.

I don't think they'll rest anyone. They've got a good head of steam up now, and will want to maintain that momentum. They will be formidable opponents on Monday.

Hull play their game in hand at home to Brentford and then Bolton at home BEFORE we play Derby. If they win them both Derby will pretty much know they're finishing 5th whatever happens against us.

I watched them today and thought they were pretty crap considering their recent form. Chris Martin has been comedy bad for most of the season.
Derby fan posting on Oneboro thinks that Blackman, Bent and Wiemann will play on Monday. Bloody hope so.

Ok take it to the next level, your assured of a playoffs position. Ask yourself, which of the top three would you least want to play in the playoffs? The team on form, scoring for fun or the ones scraping last minute goals for draws or wins.
you have a chance to lay down and get rid of your potentially most potent opposition in the playoffs, do it, you know it’s the right thing to do.

I think this could turn out to be the correct prediction

Forget any positive notions for us from Derby resting players. They have got fantastic depth in their squad so we'll be playing against top quality players no matter what. The real question (as others have alluded to) is the mindset of their players, hopefully they'll all be thinking about Hull rather than us.

Hull could conceivably be all be guaranteed 4th by the time we play Derby, if they beat Brentford on Tuesday and Bolton on Saturday they will be 6points clear of Derby. That might change the side Derby put out against us

Those regular 1st teamers my take their foot off the gas a little but any 'squad' players will be playing for a place in the play off team. Either way we just need to score, preferably about 5 or 6.

Let's remember a few things:
1 we mugged them last year at the Amex
2. They must be the most aesthetically ugly side in the championship
3. It was at the iPro that Goldson was racially abused.
4. We're a better team than them.

This is a great point. Derby will probably finish 5th and could avoid a play off final against a free scoring Brighton by switching off and avoiding over committing to those 50/50 challenges. Play it safe and don't get injured
