Just heard on TalkSport breaking news that James Taylor has been forced to retire due to a heart condition

What an absolute loss of talent to the game. Such a shame for him as well as seems a very decent lad

Cracking explosive player, gutting for the lad.

But also brilliant by the medical teams to identify it ahead of anything more tragic. Hope he's able to stay in and around the game.

Shocked to read this. He was just moving towards the peak of his career.

I always thought he should have played more times for England - a really class player. Glad the medics picked it up in time though, it's gutting for him but it could have been worse.

Horrendous news but brilliant by the medical people in identifying the condition.

He was a really good player and those two catches at Short Leg in South Africa were unbelievable.

Definitely great that they are able to spot things these days. This is a much better situation than the potential alternative

Scan picked up similar condition to Fabrice Muamba.

Muamba has tweeted him 'Having life is a great option. Retirement is inevitable but for some of us it's just earlier than expected. Enjoy life.'
