A good friend of mine, and devout Wimbledon fan, has asked for my support and anyone else who may have an interest in AFC Wimbledons plans for a new stadium at Plough Lane, I am sure you all know the history, and will no doubt think back to our own plight in the not too distant past. Yes I am an Albion supporter for 45 years and STH , and NSC browser just never posted anything to date.

He thanks you in advance for your support (and also for taking six points off MKD this season !):

Please support the club's email campaign re the new stadium

Yesterday the club launched a campaign asking for help from fans and other people who are sympathetic to our application for a new stadium in Wimbledon.

To help, please:

1. Send separate emails to Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan, the two leading candidates for Mayor in the May elections, saying simply: “Please support AFC Wimbledon’s plans for a new stadium in Plough Lane”. There is no need and no great benefit in saying more

2. State your name and address

3. Ask other family members, neighbours and other football fans you know, especially those with Greater London addresses, to do the same.

The email addresses to use are:

sadiqkhan@sadiqkhan.org.uk
zac@backzac2016.com

For the full background to this appeal for help, read the article that was published on the club’s website yesterday http://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/news/article/an-appeal-from-the-ceo-3047912.aspx

Good luck with the campaign.

Remember our 1-0 defeat at Plough Lane from many years ago.

Merton council haven't listened to the majority of locals who want Greyhound and banger racing there . Wandsworth council are opposed to it due to the large amount of housing being built with the stadium which will increase the risk of flooding. The traffic is already a nightmare round there . Hopefully the Irish consortium's plans for a smaller greyhound track and half the amount of new housing will go ahead.

London's last Greyhound stadium so a lot of campaigning going on to save the Greyhounds.

Great to think they might be reclaiming their deserved postcode.

Though the Kingsmeadow has been a brilliant stadium, bonkers atmosphere, good crowds, one of the best little grounds in the league. Hope it translates to a 19,000 seat stadium.
