If we replace the bridges at the Eastern Road, Cosham and the M275 with border controlled draw bridges, then we can vote Portsmouth out of the UK too can't we??

We could just saw right through the A27 and let them float out to sea.

We might need to tow them out - could run a rope round that spinnaker tower thing and dump them under the cover of darkness off the coast of France.

Not sure they should really be holding such votes. Especially making voting suggestions to the electorate.

The result itself is no surprise as the vote was made down political lines.

Does that mean the rest of us can hold a referendum to remove Portsmouth from the rest of the UK?

Maybe add in Croydon and make it a double whammy.

With the requirement they produce passports when entering the mainland. Mr Bellend would of course have a 'persona non grata' stamp in the remarks page.

Ahem .. Portsmouth wasn't the first City to vote.

'It came after Leicester City Council voted to campaign for Britain to stay in the EU.'

You would think Councillors would have more pressing matters to attend to ... those potholes don't fill themselves.

No surprises here - a city derived from naval docks whose express purposes was to service the military capability of kicking the sh1t out of Johnny Foreigner. It's in the DNA.

Good, well done Pompey! Of course if you believe the remainers we are so much safer in the EU, economically richer despite 55million on membership fees and are able to make our own laws. Common sense prevails for once in Portsmouth.
