Apart from the goal, and the final whistle, I hated every minute of that 90 minutes....even that bloke hooking the ball straight to our keeper Ormerod, in the last minute could have killed the club off. Horrible day.

Hereford for what it meant but for pure enjoyment it has to be Newcastle away under Mullery to get promoted to the first division.

Hard to imagine that anyone who was at Anfield on that February Sunday in 1983 would have had a better day out than that. But then I missed St James Park 1979.
I was only 13 but had my first alcohol that day as someone was handing out champagne in plastic cups!

First coach to leave from what is now the Hobgoblin pub - around midnight.
Got into Newcastle Cattle Market around daybreak.
Played footie until attacked by yobs with railway sleepers mid morning.
