The managers' post-match thoughts after Albion's win over Reading.

CHRIS HUGHTON was pleased to have Gaetan Bong back in the side following Brighton & Hove Albion's 1-0 win over Reading.Albion moved up into second place after the win and Hughton praised his assistant manager for suggesting the decision to bring on the Cameroonian international.
He said, "The substitution was a good shout from Colin Calderwood. We wanted to get Gaetan back involved because he has trained ever so well, he was ready and it seemed the right opportunity.
"We wanted to try and close down the game and Liam [Rosenior] has done a great job for us on that right-hand side, where they were very dangerous in those wide areas.”
The Albion boss also confirmed that Bobby Zamora missed the game with a slight knock and should be in contention for a return to the squad on Saturday, before praising the display of man-of-the match Sam Baldock.
"Bobby was a little bit sore after taking a little knock in training. With Bobby we have to get that right balance with him and we are hopeful that he will be available for the weekend."
"Sam was part of a good team performance and he certainly gave us a lot of running. We did what we wanted to do, which was to stretch them a little bit more. I thought we did that and certainly on the counter attack, we moved the ball quickly in that first half.
"We countered really well which gave us opportunities, although at one-nil you are always a little vulnerable."

BRIAN MCDERMOTT was left frustrated after a 1-0 defeat to Brighton last night and admitted that his side need to find a way to grind out results.James Wilson’s 25th-minute strike secured all three points for Albion and the Reading manager feels his side need to be more clinical in front of goal.
He told readingfc.co.uk "I'm very disappointed to lose the game, it's always disappointing when you lose.
“They got their goal after 20 odd minutes and managed to hold onto it,"
"Brighton are going well in the league at this moment in time and they've managed to nick the game 1-0. That's where we need to get to.
"We had a chance to make it 1-1 at the end with Ola John. But it's not about this chance or that chance, we need to create more chances in front of goal.
The Royals boss is now eager to lead another promotion charge at the club after spending the majority of this season sitting in mid table.
"We had a chat after the game in the dressing room, a conversation about where we've got to be going forward. It was very straight forward. I've been here for many years and I know what this football club is all about.
"We're trying to get ourselves back to what we're about as a football club and that's going to be really important going forward.
"We are competitive. But we want to be where Brighton are. We've been used to being in the top six in the Championship, so that's what we're striving to get to - and we need to get back there as soon as we possibly can."
