Albion manager Chris Hughton has praised his strike pair for their part in tonight's 1-0 home win over Reading.
The recalled James Wilson and Sam Baldock partnered each other for the first time, with top scorer Tomer Hemed relegated to the bench and Bobby Zamora ruled out by a knock sustained in training.
Manchester United loanee Wilson slotted the decisive goal in the first half from man-of-the-match Baldock's pass as their pace and movement troubled the Reading defence.
Hughton told The Argus: "Both were very good. James and Sam had plenty of running in them and they were part of a really good, solid team performance and certainly a performance that deserved to win the game."
Albion's third victory out of five has lifted them back up to second, with Hull held 1-1 at home by Nottingham Forest.
Hughton said: "It does matter, because the higher you are it takes something to come out of it. Burnley have a real head of steam going at the moment but you never know with this league. You've got to get the points when you can. You are going to have good and bad weeks, when results go for or against you."
Albion have now kept five clean sheets in succession in the league for the first time since they were promoted to the Championship via the play-offs in 2004.
"That is down to a good and hard-working team, a back four that has done well and a goalkeeper that has done well," Hughton said. "These are the type of games you really get something from.

"Reading are a very good team with very good players. You know you are going to have periods where you have to dig deep and we certainly did that."
