The Matches That Matter

Now we're getting into the nitty, gritty, squeaky bum time, business end of the season where every game is important, here are a few that are more important than the others. These are the matches that will have a direct bearing on the positions of the league's top five clubs, i.e. against each other. Here goes:

ALBION - 2/4 Burnley (H), 30/4 Derby (H), 7/5 Middlesbrough (A)

BURNLEY - 2/4 Brighton (A), 19/4 Middlesbrough (A)

DERBY - 5/4 Hull (H), 30/4 Brighton (A)

HULL - 18/3 Middlesbrough (A), 5/4 Derby (A)

MIDDLESBROUGH - 18/3 Hull (H), 19/4 Burnley (H), 7/5 Brighton (H)

Aside from Derby who have dropped off the top four a bit recently, it's a case of two from four for the automatic spot. But who? Exciting times ahead.

These are the big games, certainly, but it's the points which may be dropped against "lesser" opposition which might prove to be the undoing of one or all of the promotion contenders. We can only worry about bringing home the bacon by winning OUR games, and hope the others slip up along the way. Every game from now on is MASSIVE, no matter who we're up against. There will be some startlingly unexpected results; hopefully not with us on the receiving end!

Burnley have it pretty well sewn up IMO

2nd I've got Hull but just one slip up and it'll be anyone of three on the last day

Good point. Teams down the bottom will be fighting for survival, Rotherham for example have beaten us and Boro lately, others could do the same.
