It was frustrating but you have to give Sheffield Wednesday credit."

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton offered a similar assessment to Saturday's stalemate at Preston North End, after his team were held to a second successive goalless draw by Sheffield Wednesday at the Amex tonight.

Hughton felt his side needed to offer more offensively to have won the match,* but praised the visitors after they made it difficult for Albion to break them down.He said, "It was frustrating but you have to give Sheffield Wednesday credit. They came here to make it difficult for us. We have been very good at home in the last couple of games and we have scored a lot of goals, and they were very conscious of that.
*
"They worked very hard, but we needed to show a bit more than we did offensively. They are a good Sheffield Wednesday team and we found it hard to break them down.
*
"They are a good side and they made a few changes, which is what they tend to do when they have two games in a week. They are not in the position that they are in this league for no reason.
"They have been up and around the top six all season and have got good quality and a lot of energy in their side. Sometimes when you set the team up like they did, it is easier to do that away from home.
"There is a little bit more pressure on you to win games at home. But credit to them, they have got good ability and we were the home side. We needed to show that little bit more to break them down."

Hughton rested midfielder Beram Kayal, and started with Steve Sidwell, and was pleased with the on-loan Stoke midfielder's contribution in his first home start at the Amex."Beram has played a lot of games for us and has done very well for us, but we had an opportunity to use the squad. We have got a lot of fit players at the moment and it certainly wasn't in regards of any injury to him, it was just an opportunity to change things.
"What he did was a good job for us in the middle of the park, which is an important role as they are quite strong on the counter attack. He broke up a lot of attacks and I was very happy with him, but overall, for all of us, it was a frustrating day."
