I find myself becoming drunkenly irate at this more often than not so I'm hoping the collective wisdom of NSC can help me.
If a player is injured in the penalty area, sufficiently enough to warrant attention from the physio, are they obliged to head off the pitch at the nearest touchline? In this case the goal-line?
Tonight, one of their boys went down in the area and jogged off to over the bloody halfway line before the ref restarted play.
Is there no rule/law for this? I'm sure they have to exit the pitch at the nearest line, receive treatment and then re-enter the field of play.
Any refs / sages out there with an answer?
