For a limited period and for limited things, apparently. About time. Presumably the refs will be given a minute max to decide . . . . And then when it is shown to be terrific, it will be rolled out. . . . sounds good to me.

Surprised this thread isn't getting more interest.

Well it's a bit old hat for us isn't it. We see it every week and forget that Europe mostly doesn't have it. This is because it is horrendously expensive and not many others can afford it. Something like 32,000 to install and 7,000 per game to run. Waste of money imo when a 5th official on the line can do a better job for a lot less money.

Will it not just trigger a five min advertising break as we wait for their descision? Think of the added sponsorship deals and advertising revenue.

If that was the way it had to work it won't happen. When does rugby, cricket or tennis go off air for these things? Answer... it doesn't. What the advertisers will do is get their branding up on screen when the decision is made, like the highly visible sponsors in cricket when the out/not out reveal takes place.

It should be used just for penalties, the game can continue and if it's a pen that the ref has missed the game can be brought back

Terrible idea will take away the theatre of football, another nail in the coffin for the game

Overall I'm against it. You only have to watch the rugby World Cup to see how long it takes. Not keen.

Works on cricket because of the pace of the game, but not for football.

Dodgy decisions are part of football.
