Timeframe to get a new striker to cover potential Play off games

It's grim oop north
So apparently we cant sign anyone until next week if we want to use them "should" we be involved in the play offs.

However, can we not make the actual signing say, NOW, and then have it starting next week?

Lots of people seem to be waiting with baited breath for GM to come home - and waiting until the 26th Feb. Can we not try and get this over the line now and announce it, and then have him actually start the loan on the 26th?? Or dies it all have to happen on the same day?

And yes, I think we def need GM, especially with the Wilson recall hanging over us and the clusterfu*k of a season LVG is having.....

Think it's maximum 93 days from date of signing under Emergency Loan provisions (can't be arsed to count backwards from play off final date)

Feb 26th is the start of the 93 day period that would allow any loan player to appear in the play off final.

In theory we could start a loan on Tuesday 23rd for 28 days until March 21st, and extend it on March 25th to cover the playoff final, in which case he'd go back to Bournemouth for 4 days before the extension kicks in.

This would make him available for Bristol City, but I doubt the above, whilst within the rules, will happen.

LR can cover an odd game but not 3 months.

He is a massive upgrade on Calde and Ridgewell. He was great at LB before and will be for the final 3 months if needed; exactly the character and experience needed for the run in. I remember LR actually attacking an opponent properly in their half and box, he may have provided an assist? Trust me old timer, he is good enough (but I'll admit Bong is probably better).

Not if Bong is due gack soon as LR can cover an odd game but not 3 months.

But won't that put us back in the same situation that someone has been moaning about all season where we only have one left back, backed up by a rightside midfielder that weakens the team when he's put in to cover left back and an ageing right back as third choice. Apparently this is CHs biggest mistake all season, he is going to repeat it and you are backing him this time ???

That sounds far too sensible. I'm sure there's a reason we have to leave it until the last minute.

Another club coming in to offer a better deal for Bournemouth as the deal would not be effective till the 26th?

Bournemouth may want to see if they are still in the FA Cup after today.

Heard from a good source that Murray wants to come but Eddie Howe said no,always a chance that things could change but it's not looking good.
