Brighton & Hove Albion assistant boss Colin Calderwood tonight hailed goalkeeper David Stockdale's vital save as a key moment in the 3-2 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Amex.Stockdale made an impressive stop to deny Bolton's Liam Feeney, as he broke through on goal, after a rare error by skipper Bruno.
Calderwood said, "David made a key save at 2-2. Goals win games, but goalkeepers can get forgotten about. At 2-2 and in a one-on-one situation, that was crucial.*
"It was not the first time he has been in that situation, because we haven't often been two goals ahead this season. He has made important blocks and saves and this was another one.
"We squeaked there in the end. It was certainly entertaining. Bolton played very free and very open and they certainly tried to win the game from the start and that made it difficult for us.
"We scored early and we hoped that might be a platform for us to control it, but we couldn’t and they deserved their equaliser. We scored at important times though, and didn't allow the game to be level for too long, and that was the advantage."

Calderwood was also full of praise for Albion's wide men, as Jamie Murphy scored Albion's opener and Anthony Knockaert's blistering run from his own half was key to the second goal, and was delighted with Tomer Hemed's desire and athleticism after he started and finished the move."We have been really fortunate and probably the reason why we are towards the top of the league is the performance of our wingers, whoever has been playing. Kazenga LuaLua, at the start of the season, Jamie Murphy, Solly March, Liam Rosenior when he has played there; they have all done very well.
"Anthony really tests full backs and can go between one, can go between two and we want to make sure he produces more and more of that.
"If you go back to the start of it, Tomer is involved when the ball gets headed out from our last third. He laid the ball off and Anthony got it and from that dribble, it was important people got up the pitch to be on the end of what happened."
Albion now face a tough spell away from the Amex and Calderwood has challenged the squad to replicate their impressive home form on the road, going into three successive away matches - at Hull City on Tuesday, before trips to Cardiff City and Bristol City.
He added, "We were delighted with our form early season, but it is hard to win game after game in this league. So we are even more delighted to have come back from a sticky period; but there have been games we have lost where we have had more chances and more control than today.
"We are right in the mix at the moment. We are more or less where we want to be at that stage in the season. It is encouraging that we have got three wins at home, but we now have to go and win away from home. It's something we spoke about in pre-season. We have three games and we have to come back with some victories before we come back here."
