Stockdale - 8 - One very important, smart save from Judge in the first ten minutes. Fairly comfortable from then on.
Bruno - 7.5 - Fairly solid. Switched off on one occasion in the second half. Unlucky not to score
Ridgewell - 7 - Got much tighter and as s result looked far more comfortable.
Dunk - 7.5 - Got away with his customary calamity today and never looked back. Assured.
Goldson - 8 - This lad is absolute quality. Was out fourth choice centre half, now first choice.
Stephens - 6.5 - A little quiet. Going through a slightly flat period.
Kayal - 7.5 - An energetic, busy performance capped by his assist.
Knockeart - 9 - Sublime at times. Always involved. Could have scored three. (MOTM)
Murphy - 9 - A huge return to form. Direct, pacy, skilful, subtle and well taken goal.
Zamora - 6 - Not his night at all. Looked leggy and constantly offside. Maybe Manu left him his curse.
Hemed - 7 - Great header, missed a good chance earlier in the first half.

Wilson - 7 - Some good interplay without looking a threat himself .
Crofts - 7 - wonderfully weighted pass for Murphy's goal
Sidwell - 6 - little time to make an impact

Pretty much how I saw it. Goldson is wonderful but Knockaert is different class

Stockdale 8 - not much to do but important save in the 1st half from Judge. heart in mouth when he went down in the 2nd half.

Bruno 8 - kept it simple when needed, one of our POTS
Goldson 7.5 - what a find - forging a good partnership with Dunk
Dunk 7.5 - not his best but not his worst. Happy he's here.
Ridgewell 7 - one or two times i was nervous but did well.

Knockaert 9 - imperious. Not sure what we paid but it was a bargain.
Kayal 7 - i've seen him play better but was bustling all the time.
Stephens 6.5 - Not great, but if anything was overshadowed by other players.
Murphy 8 - did really well tonight, took his goal well. I think he could be important for us in the coming weeks and months.

Zamora 6 - suffered with his injury.
Hemed 7 - SO glad he got his goal, worked really hard. Hoped he's stay for the full 90.

Wilson 7 - great runs, stopped a possible goal by a great tackle by their CB.
Crofts 7 - good pass for the third, did well in his limited time.
Sidwell - 6.5 - as Crofts, but minus the pass for the goal.

Stockdale - 7.5 one great save, otherwise not too much to do
Bruno - 7 did ok, tried to be a bit too clever at times
Goldson - 8.5 really impressed with him. Proper footballer. So comfortable on the ball, strong, good pace
Dunk - 7.5 mostly very solid, seems to have some confidence back
Ridgewell - 7.5 much, much better tonight
Knockaert - 9 Jesus what a buy. Brilliant again.
Stephens - 6 a bit off the pace, lucky not to get booked
Kayal - 7.5 some great ball-winning
Murphy - 9 just shaded MOM for me, best game for us by a distance
Hemed - 7.5 decent game, so pleased for him to get on the scoresheet. Get him some decent service and he'll start scoring
Bobby - 4 very poor, way off the pace. 5 times offside ??

Wilson - 6.5 - still not fully fit but pace coming back
Crofts - 7 - did well
Sidwell - 7 got stuck in straight away, looks like he'll be useful

Ref - 5 some truly bizarre decisions but let the game flow well at times

Stockdale 8 - Excellent save in first half, could have been a very different game had that gone in.

Bruno 7.5 - Solid and unlucky not to score
Dunk 7.5 - Got away with an early penalty decision, otherwise rock solid.
Goldson 8.5 - Immense, what a player this guy is. Big future.
Ridgewell 7 - Did his job well.

Knockaert 9 - What more needs to be said? Could be the man to take us to the next level.
Stephens 7 - Comfortable and generally assured.
Kayal 7.5 - Typical Kayal performance, hopefully being taken off was just a precaution.
Murphy 8.5 - Best performance in months, fantastic to see him back firing.

Zamora 6 - Off the pace and leggy, not his day.
Hemed 7 - Brilliant headed goal, should have done better with first half chance. Still not convinced however.

Subs:
Wilson 7 - Willing runner who was isolated for most of the second half. Was a thorn in their side.
Crofts 7 - Helped see the game out well. Good assist for Murphy's goal.
Sidwell 6 - Good to see him back. Will be important cover for Kayal and Stephens.

Can't understand Zamora marking he won a lot of balls in the air yes he was offside a lot but we could not hold onto the ball second half up front.

Stockdale - 7 - Didnt have much to do, made one good save but flapped at one cross, but good game as usual
Bruno - 8 - Very good as usual, good on ball
Ridgewell - 7.5 - Thought was very good defensively and decent on the ball as well
Dunk - 7 - Made a couple of mistakes but also did some very good stuff, but does make me nervous sometimes.
Goldson - 8.5 - Solid didnt put a foot wrong, id say he should be number 1 centre back now.
Stephens - 6.5 - Properly the least effective player today but did work hard.
Kayal - 7.5 - Good work rate as usual and someone who makes us tick, if was injuried we would so miss him
Knockeart - 9.5 - near enough perfection, at end looked tired and did over do it at times but that is what makes him a Vicente like player.
Murphy - 9 - Brillant, his performances really coming together and Lua Lua waiting in wings seems like got his performances more consistent, got talent no doubt.
Zamora - 6.5 - Didnt really perform at level of recent, but did cause the centre back some problems
Hemed - 7.5 - Great header and you can tell he cares, i think he is over trying as his poor shot in first half looked like a guy over trying, was so happy when he scored as a nice guy.

Wilson - 7.5 - .Looked very dangerous in the first 30 minutes but tired at the end but he when gets his fitness up, will be a real danger to teams.
Crofts - 7 - Good performance as an individual but team performance did slip a bit when was on, i did think when come on why not Sidwell or Towell but great pass for the last goal.
Sidwell - 6.5 - didnt do much wrong and tried hard but not long enough really to get into the game.

A "proper" win ... at last ... by more than a one goal margin. Refreshing. But we often looked shaky when Brentford were going forward.

Stockdale 7. One very good save, a couple of wayward kicks. What did he get the yellow for?
Bruno 7. Over complicated things on a couple of occasions. Unlucky not to score.
Dunk 7. A couple of errors. Two too many. Otherwise a good game, but does need to play the simple ball out of defence more often instead of playing his team-mates into trouble.
Goldson 9. Excellent game. So assured in possession and his passing is spot-on.
Ridgewell 7. Best I've seen from him.
Kayal 7. Great cross for the goal. Good game, but not quite at his best. Hope his injury is not going to keep him on the sidelines.
Stephens 6. Not at his best at the moment, but a reasonable game.
Knockhaert 9. What a find. Exciting player. Always wants to run with the ball. MOM.
Hemed 8. Well taken goal and a much improved performance.
Zamora 5. Not at his best. Offside too often and his hold-up play below par.
Murphy 9. Decent first half, oustanding second half. Good to see him back to his best.

Subs:
Wilson 7. OK, but seemed to tire quickly.
Crofts 6. Great pass for the goal.
Sidwell 6. Didn't see a lot of the ball.

Stockdale 8 - made the one save he really had to make. He took a different approach to kicking tonight but generally he did what he had to do when it mattered.
Bruno 7 - nice, solid, effort cleared off the line. Stayed much deeper than usual against tricky wide players but defended well.
Goldson 9 - I don't really know what he did wrong.
Dunk 8 - I'm torn because he made a stupid mistake early doors which nearly cost us a goal but thereafter he defended excellently. Within 5 minutes of making that mistake he'd cleared up after his team mates on 3 separate occasions showing it hadn't affected him. He just needs to cut out that one moment of madness every game. At the moment, he should probably be the one whose place is threatened in the side by Greer's return (albeit I'd not drop either personally).
Ridgewell 7 - defended excellently. Basically the same as Bruno without the technical ability to support his winger.
Stephens 6 - starting to genuinely look sluggish. Struggled against their extra man in midfield and their fluidity.
Kayal 7 - faired better than Stephens and was productive in possession and defensively. I still watch him and feel he's being limited by the 442 system we play but he still showed his class throughout without ever really needing to step up a gear. Got the vital assist when the game was finely poised.
Knockaert 8.5 - played very well and made the difference. Lost the ball a few too many times in deeper positions for my liking and should aim to do more of his better work 10-15 yards further up the pitch, but still, on the ball he can be absolute magic as proven by his goal.
Murphy 8.5 - excellent defensively in helping Ridgewell and excellent going forward as he created numerous chances, got an assist and got himself a goal. Very impressive tonight.
Hemed 7 - took his goal incredibly well yet missed a sitter on his left foot. His link up play was better albeit it still needs some improvement as he rarely holds the ball up to allow others to get in support of him. But showed renewed confidence and he was more productive than recently - probably doesn't deserve to lose his place on tonight's performance.
Zamora 4 - just had one of those games. Constantly offside, poor touch, won almost nothing. There was the odd moment of good link up early in the first half but the vast majority of his play was poor. Was rightly subbed at half time and should probably start on the bench next weekend.

Subs
Crofts 6.5 - came on, got an assist, kept the midfield area tight for us. Did his job basically.
Sidwell 6 - same as Crofts but without the assist.
Wilson 8 - needs to start next weekend. He just offers something we don't have when he doesn't start. Direct, pacey, brilliant movement (as shown by his run which opened the space for Murphy's goal) and created chances.

Hughton 9 - had a plan, knew Brentford's strengths and countered them excellently. The second half wasn't as much fun to watch for the neutral, but he did his job as manager of tying up the game, and he did it excellently. Tactics were absolutely spot on.

Groundsman 4 - seriously, what's happened to the pitch?!

Zamora - 6 (good target man play and awareness of team mates. Hemed should watch how to play like that)
Hemed - 6 (the great headed goal, saved him from a poor rating. Seems so heavy and immobile),

Wilson - 5 (looks very unfit and out of sorts)
Sidwell - 7 (quality, no-how and still has some pace)

A lot of 6's for Kayal and some marking him lower than Stockdale who had precious little to do other than kick the ball back to Brentford every so often? Blimey I had Kayal just edging Knockaert and Mrphy for MotM
. He absolutely terrified their midfield and really picked us up when we were threatening to go off the boil int the last 3rd of the first half - then that great cross for Hemed's goal and he came out again 2nd half and pushed their best midfielder back so far he was playing between the centre halves.
If Kayal hadn't done his job so well then the flairistas wouldn't have had the opportunity to look so good on the break. So King Beram an 8.5, Knocky and Murphy and Goldson 8 and everyone else can have a 7 bar Stephens (6) and Hemed (6).

Great summary & pretty much agree with all. Dunk was poor for first ten mins then was brilliant & settled. Ridgewell was atrocious & out of position for first 15 then seemed to settle & used his experience well. Was good second half even... BUT we miss Bong bombing up the wing - Ridgewell got done for pace & giving them too much space at times. Better than an out of position Calde though tbh...

Saves me the bother - pretty much agree with this. Probably marked Stockdale down for his brainless booking and his distribution not being up to his usual standard but apart from that, these marks look about right.

And Murphy MOTM for me - but what performances from Goldson and Knocky too

Stockdale 7 Great save but why was he just kicking it long all the time thus concediing possession
Bruno 7 Very good. After dreadfull season last year maybe most improved player
Dunk 7 Good in defence but why so many aimless long balls to Zamora
Goldson 7.5 Defended well marked high then Dunk because better distribution
Kayal 7.5 Usual high standard
Stevens 6 Not at his best.
Manager Very hard to find fault after such good result but didn't understand why we in second half just played long and missed out midfield
Ridgewood 6.5 Good in defence just a pity offers little going forward.
Zamora 3 Cant think of any positive contribution
Hemed 5 Marked up because of goal but otherwise was dreadfull. To miss target with only goalkeeper to beat was embarrassing
Murphy 8.5 Very good and unlike March is two footed.
Knockaert 9 Outstanding

Wilson 6 Still looked tired after each run but hopefully getting fitter
Croft 7 Marked up for outstanding pass inside fullback
Sidwell 6 Looked very fit and raring to go which is good news
