Knowing we have gone since Derby at home last year when we haven't won by more than the odd goal I had a look to see what the stats were for every team.

In the top 7 leagues in England there are just 6 teams who are on a run of league games going back into last season where they have failed to win a game by more than one goal.

1. Yeovil 54 matches, 414 days, winning 10 matches in that time
2. BHAFC 39 matches, 334 days, winning 13 matches in that time
3. Oldham 35 matches, 313 days, winning 4 matches in that time
4. Aston Villa 31 matches, 323 days, winning 6 matches in that time
5. Crewe 29 matches, 281 days, winning 5 matches in that time
6. West Brom, 24 matches, 258 days winning 7 matches in that time

So does this highlight the need to score more goals or concede less goals.

Neither a win is 3 points regardless of winning margin. Goal difference is only important at the end if the season. Don't forget under Barry Lloyd we reached the play off swith a negative goal diffefence which illustrates its pointsnot winning maargin that is more important

I'd love to see us 3-0 up be 60 minutes, to allow us to rest the like of Kayal / Stephens etc who have played full throttle for every game.

I actually think it highlights the limitations of our manager (and maybe players)

We have actually scored plenty of goals this season (only 3 less than Boro) and we haven't conceded an obscene amount either.
However, we don't seem capable of doing one without the other!!!
If we set-up to attack a team from the start, we often score and often score early. We then nearly always concede very quickly after this, especially at home.
Away from home, we start much more defensively, thus have been more successful at nicking some 1-0 wins.
We need to find a way of tactically driving home an advantage, Hughton's only answer to this ever, is to swap a forward for a midfielder and go 1 up top.
As we saw at QPR away, all this did was invite heavy pressure, and concede a goal. The pressure then got to Dunk and he got sent off, 2 points dropped.
The immediate half hour after we score, needs to be addressed.

13 wins in 39 games. That is shocking.

Think we will end the win by one goal voodoo at home to Bolton.

Why shocking with the number of drawn games in that 39 games would give us 50+ points with 7 games to go and a comfortable mid table position something we would all have taken last season

....and finish the game holding on for a 3-2 win.
