Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner dies at 74 (not the dreaded 69 then).

Loved JA as teenager - had all their early albums. They were consummate musicians though, by all accounts, Grace Slick and Kantner, were not exactly easy to work with

Going to give After Bathing at Baxter's (my favourite album of theirs) a spin in memory

Not a good year so far. Their early stuff is great I just wish radio playlists would acknowledge there is more to JA than white rabbit

I've been playing some all morning - a really under-rated band. Forgotten what a fantastic bassist Jack Casady was

Saw him playing live back in 1970. Death has claimed him at last, after several previous attempts which he narrowly escaped. RIP.

Sad another musician from my youth has gone. Surrealistic Pillow was one of the first albums I bought. RIP
