Albion are close to unleashing Kazenga LuaLua.
Boss Chris Hughton is weighing up whether to start with the explosive left-winger or keep him in reserve against Huddersfield at the Amex on Saturday.
LuaLua has made a couple of substitute appearances after four months out with groin damage.
He also had a run-out in an under-21s friendly against Brentford at the Lancing training complex on Tuesday and could play for them again against West Brom at Crawley on Monday night (7pm).
Hughton, asked if LuaLua is ready to start, told The Argus: "It's close to that. We'll get through the weekend. We have a development game on Monday, so there is a chance he'll play in that game.
"Sometimes you don't know, you can put a player in and they surprise you. He has been out a long time. He's looked, even today, very good in training but there's a big difference (playing).
"It certainly doesn't mean we couldn't start him but probably to get 90 minutes out of him would be tough.
"What ever participation he has at the weekend, if we looked to play him for a period of time in the game on Monday then we have got that extra week to get him up to speed as much as possible."
Albion will make late decisions on Gordon Greer (hamstring and Sam Baldock (calf). Hughton said: "It will be a question of whether they train tomorrow.
"If they train tomorrow that puts them in the frame to be involved on Saturday. If they don't then we are looking at the next game (Brentford home February 5)."
