Just been given a five-year contract - Williams Announced As Head Coach

Perhaps worth noting that many times modern longer contracts tend to have an exit clause where at any time the club can still sack and only having to pay up a certain period of that contract, possibly 6 months depending on the standing and power of any manager at the time of signing.

So although it seems an unusually long contract, its probably not quite as bigger commitment as it first seems, I think the clubs do this to somehow hope that the fans accept that they have the manager for some time so better off rolling with a few bad results rather than turn against him and the team.

He was appointed by Gus and left the club just after Gus and gang left. Was quite highly rated at the Albion but his association with GP cost him. 5 years is a big commitment for a rookie manager.
