Yep! I can see it in my crystal ball. This Saturday I will catching my usual train from Southampton to Brighton for the Huddersfield game. Engineering works are taking place between Three Bridges and Brighton for both Saturday and Sunday. Every time there's been a hint of "improvement" works there has always been a knock on effect on Southern's west coast line (or whatever they call it).
In the last couple of months, on home match days, my train, either going or returning, has terminated at Barnham, Chichester, Worthing, Fratton and stopped innumerable times in between.
Come Saturday I await the first " We wish to apologise . . . " , and then fingers crossed that the train will actually complete the journey it's supposed to, both there and back. Here's hoping.
