Welcome to the live draw for the second round of WHC IX.

These ties will be head to head battles. One winner, one loser. Progression or elimination. No hiding place. The ties will be played during the week commencing January 18th. Each tie will last for 48 hours. It is a free draw with the exception that no creature will go head to head against another creature that was in its group.

Each beasts number for the draw is:

2 - Great White Shark
3 - Grizzly Bear
4 - Wolverine
5 - Siberian Tiger

Number 12. That's the Malayan Sun Bear, a popular competitor who cruised through group D.

No 10, The African Elephant, who only booked his place in the last 16 a few minutes ago thanks to a nailbiting victory against the tardigrade in a head to head play off match.

These guys have faced off before, most notably in Jaws 1-4.

Number 11, that's the salt water crocodile ho is, of course, the reigning champion.

no. 3, the Grizzly bear. Grizzly is making his first appearance in the knock out rounds for a number of years.

Tie 6 will be number 16. Thats the Japanese Giant Hornet. The smallest beast left in the competition.

Number 7, Thats Honey badger. Three times finalist and self proclaimed 'peoples champion'.

Japanese Giant Hornet has a helluva fight on his hands if he wants to make the quarter finals.

Gutted. My two favourites match up early on. The Shrimp wins it for me, but I would be gutted to see the Wolverine leave at this stage

Have the TV matches been decided yet?

I'm guessing:

Tie 5 - The closely matched big draw.
Tie 6 - Features the Honey Badger, the Leeds Utd of WHC TV fixtures.
Tie 4 - Reigning champion vs PLUCKY underdog.
