Firstly, the song is great. But you wont be surprised to see me ssy that. Secondly, the song isnt a protest song, merely the last verse was changed for the appearance.

Squeeze have never before strayed into the political arena, so i guess Chris or Glenn just wanted to say something.

As to protest songs. Agree that Ghost town is up there. Not just the words, but how the music follows along.

I thought my ears were not deceiving me this morning.
Great song just altered for Cameron.
Well done Squeeze, I doubt he noticed though as he is so far up his backside.
The message was true as well and so much better than Marr's pathetic questioning, yet again he let a politician ramble on with their lies without really putting him under any pressure.

No chance DC was listening to proles is there? Someone may've translated for the spoilt ninny by the morning though.
Which football team does he think he supports again?

Rage Against the Machine - 'Killing in the Name'

I've got a weird relationship with Rage Against The Machine.

I love the music and I owe my love of the bass guitar to Timmy C almost exclusively. I do find their anti capitalism stance considering they were signed to Epic, owned by Sony one of the biggest corporations on the planet.

Of course most of their stuff is protesting other issues but there's a strange irony in some of it.

The ultimate protest song...here are the first few lines/ lyrics to UB40 - As Always You Were Wrong Again.

"Raise the price of parking fines
Boost for the economy
If that don't work, we close the mines
Starve the poor of industry

As always you were wrong again
To us a little seems a lot
Don't turn your back on desperate men
'Cause we can see how much you've got

We proved again, we rule the waves
Blow for white democracy
That Britains never shall be slaves
Long as they agree with me

Keep them poor and wanting more
Deprive them of their basic rights
Hunger banging at their door
Take away their will to fight
