Zac Clough is a really talented player. We should be looking to hijack this move and bring him in. Was the standout player in our game against Bolton at the Macron last season.

This was covered by Warren and Johnny C yesterday and I have to agree with them 100%, Clough is small and plays in behind. We have Baldock, Wilson and Murphy to do that. What we're in need of is a genuine number nine who is fitter than Bobby and finishes better than Hemed.

Indeed. We don't need yet another second striker, we need another main man.

Peter Crouch on loan then. Although he's been injured, wasn't figuring before that at Stoke. Scores goals and an aerial threat.

A bit injury prone but plays off the main striker and scores one in two in the Championship. Skilful player and has interested Premiership clubs. Man Utd were sniffing around in the summer.

If we go for an out and out target man aren't we admitting that Hemed isn't up to it? Many would say that he isn't but it would indicate that we have come to that conclusion after just half a season. Would piss Hemed off considerably and wouldn't go down well with his mate, Beram. I think we need a Clough like player who can offer something different. We have Baldock permanently but he doesn't score enough goals, and Wilson is a loanee. Murphy's best position is as a winger.
I actually think that the club will now stick with what he have got bearing in mind that Knockaert can play in the second striker position, Baldock and Lua Lua are back from injury.
Interesting that Man U wouldnt let Wilson play in the FA Cup yesterday. I wonder if they are contemplating asking for him back bearing in mind their woeful scoring record at home and not wanting him cup tied?

Sounds like Zach Clough is off to Bristol City for c£3m as Bolton scramble to raise cash to pay a tax bill to stay afloat.

9 goals in 17 isn't a bad return given Bolton's woefulness.

Also sounds like Mark Davies is going to Sheffield Wednesday for c£750k as they continue to spend > http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35273368

The Bristol Post have some rumours about the Albion too:

Maybe they just don't want him to play for Steve Evans. Must admit I didn't realise he's 34 now - perhaps not much of an upgrade on Bobby.
I don't think that 34 is too old for the Chamionship if you have quality. The issue with Bobby is his chronic injury issues which mean that 20-60 minutes a game is the max we can get out of him.

Havent Charlton said they are prepared to let Vetokele leave what would he cost? He has been injured for some time but was brilliant against us.
Good suggestion, worth seriously considering.

Mostly played as the lead striker at Chalton last year where he averaged 1 goal in 4 (11 goal from 41 appearances, 37 starts), though a different type of striker to Hemed those stats wouldn't suggest a massive upgrade. Vetokele's only 23 and still has time to improve but hope club would be looking at someone who could make an instant impact.

Not disagreeing but where else do you look as most UK based strikers are a prohibitive price eg. Benik Afobe. or do you go for a known man to CH like Gary Hooper but what would he cost. or even Lucciano Becchio.?
