James Marrs has targeted a Super League challenge in the FA Cup this season.
But first he has to manage his resources to get past Luton Town.
The Seagulls will make changes as they take on the side currently second in the division below them on Sunday.
Marrs has plenty of options for the second round tie as his side aim for a seventh successive win.
While winning promotion from the Premier League remains the priority, he would love to secure a Cup test against a side from the division above, WSL 2.
And he says there are plenty of people at the club who fancy the big one – a glamour tie with a top-flight WSL 1 outfit.
Marrs said: “There are two more rounds until the WSL 2 clubs come in.
“Last year we got Watford and we were unlucky to go out. They went on to play Chelsea.
“So there are three more games before we can pull a really big team out. That would be great to see how we shape up, not just as a team but as a women’s set-up.
“A personal target for me would be to play a WSL 2 team and see where we are in relation to the league we aim to play in next season. But I know for the club the aim would be to get a WSL 1 team.”
Marrs, pictured right, expects top-flight outfits to contact Albion for pre-season friendlies in the coming weeks as they prepare for their own campaigns.
He said: “We will probably look to play a couple if we can.”
But the emphasis remains keeping his squad fit and sharp for the league run-in, from which they might need to win all five games.
To that end, the Christmas period has been very useful. Marrs said: “Our last game was on December 21. We took December 23 off but then got them back in the day after Boxing Day.
“We’ve had five training sessions during the break in games (with another due tonight) and it has been really good. We have done some work on grass, some in the gym.
“We’ve got players back fit and raring to go this weekend. The players who were fully fit have trained really hard and those who needed some rehab and gym work have made good progress.

“We are in really good shape. We will use our brains in terms of selection and try to get the job done.“We will certainly rest some players and give others an opportunity.”
With no centre of excellence fixtures this weekend, Albion have plenty of younger players available.
Some will come into a selection conundrum which also involves making sure the development squad are well equipped to win their derby at home to Crystal Palace.
Marrs added: “We are certainly not looking at losing to Palace. There are a lot of players available for selection and we will have a strong team out at both groups.”
Albion face Luton at Culver Road on Sunday (2pm) while the development squad derby is subject to more restricted access at the training ground.
