BBC just reported this:
'Posh 'reject three Washington bids'
League One side Peterborough United have rejected three bids for forward Conor Washington, according to chairman Darragh MacAnthony.
The 23-year-old, who joined from Newport in January 2014, has scored 14 goals in 29 matches this season, 12 of which have come in the past 13 games.
But MacAnthony said on Twitter that he has rejected two bids from ex-Premier League sides and one from "a large Championship club".'

Any chance we could be the so called large Championship club?

So Reading sell Blackman for a reported £2.5m then look to spend £500K more to replace him.
Proven Championship goals v no history north of League 1
Economics of the madhouse!

Regardless of if it is us or not, they do seem to have a knack of finding players to sell on.

I wouldn't worry about trying to guess identities, just give it 5 minutes and Darragh MacAnthony will be all over the Twitter with the full details. A model of discretion he isn't...!

Hope it's not us. We have a pretty crap record of buying lower league strikers who produce the goods, since we've been at the Amex.
I have to confess that I haven't given up on Baldock though, I like him and hope that he comes good.

Can only be either Leeds or Wednesday. They are the only huge clubs in the Championship.

He'd have said 'massive club' if it had been one of them, Shirley.

Ex prem covers most of the champo. Only us and Brentford are not (from current top 10) and they are not big.

Peterborough have got the right idea. Sell a player when he is in form. Get more dosh.

Best value is to be had when a previously good (rather than hyped-up over-rated) young player is going through a bad spell (rather than reverting to normal standard after exaggerations about his ability). .

Or to look at it another way:

Reading keep Blackman until the end of the season then he walks away for nothing and they have to spend £3M+ to replace him.

Like us with Barnes, they were between a rock and a hard place.
